Are you looking for guitar lessons in Cambridge, New Zealand? I offer relaxed, practical guitar lessons for complete beginners through to more experienced players who want to improve their skills.
I teach guitar lessons from my Cambridge studio, working with local students from Cambridge and the surrounding Waikato areas.
Who my lessons are for
I teach students of all ages and levels, including:
Complete beginners (no experience needed)
Kids from around age 5+
Teenagers learning guitar for school, fun, or bands
Adults starting a new hobby
And experienced players wanting to improve their technique or learn new styles.
If you’re unsure whether you’re ready to start, that’s completely fine—most students begin that way.
First Lessons Free
Your first lesson is completely free. This gives you a chance to try a lesson with no pressure, and see if guitar is right for you. From there, you can decide if my teaching style works for you, and there’s no obligation to continue afterwards.
After the first lesson, it’s $30 per lesson, for one person taking a half-hour lesson. This is the most common type of lesson that I teach. If you’re interested in doing longer than a half hour, or want to learn in a group. Then have a look at my full list of information here

Location
I teach in both Te Awamutu and Cambridge and I have two different places where I teach depending on the day of the week.
In Cambridge, I teach at:
81 Watkins Road
And in Te Awamutu, I teach at
337 Jary Road
Online lessons are also an option, and are easy to set up.
About Me
Hi, I’m GJ, a local Guitar, Piano and Bass Teacher available in both Cambridge and Te Awamutu. I am currently available during all weekdays and would love to help you start learning or improving at your instrument.
I am passionate about music, and when I’m not teaching, I will most likely be practising new songs and skills. I might have picked up a new instrument by the time you’re reading this :).
